StoneAge stocks forty-four supplements on this shelf from Cymbiotika, BodyHealth, BiOptimizers, Organifi, NXGEN, Terraflora and Quicksilver Scientific, priced from $44.95, carrying more than 880 customer reviews at an average of 4.9 out of 5 — more reviews than any other collection in the store. All ship from an Australian warehouse.

Forty-four products is too many to browse and nobody should have to. They fall into four groups, and knowing which group you're shopping in removes about forty of them from your list.

What's in this range?

Vitamins and minerals — liposomal vitamin C from Cymbiotika and Quicksilver, Vitamin D3 + K2 + CoQ10, zinc, nascent iodine, BodyHealth Multi Complete and Magnesium Breakthrough. Probiotics and digestive — the full Terraflora range, P3OM, BodyHealth Probiotic, Gut Restore and kApex. Wholefoods and greensOrganifi Green Juice, Red Juice, Gold, Glow and Pure, BodyHealth Greens and Reds, and the NXGEN grass-fed organ capsules including liver, thyroid, thymus and bone marrow. Botanicals and specialist — liposomal elderberry, coated silver, allergy defense, adrenal super tonic, shilajit, NMN, NAD+ and colostrum.

Which should I start with?

Which group matches what you're after, then the best-reviewed thing in it. If you're not sure, the two most-bought products on this page are Cymbiotika Vitamin D3 + K2 + CoQ10 (46 reviews, 4.9) and Organifi Green Juice (116 reviews, 4.9) — a single-ingredient vitamin and a wholefood powder, which is about as far apart as this shelf goes. Most people find one of those two frames is the one they actually wanted.

What we'd avoid: buying one thing from each of the four groups at once. It's expensive, and it makes any change impossible to attribute.

What are these ingredients?

What does “liposomal” mean?

A delivery format rather than an ingredient. The active compound is wrapped in a phospholipid — the same class of fat that makes up cell membranes. It's used for compounds that are otherwise poorly absorbed or unpleasant to take. Several products on this page use it; it tells you about the packaging of the molecule, not the molecule itself.

What is vitamin D3, and why is it paired with K2?

D3 is the form of vitamin D produced in skin on exposure to UVB light, and found in oily fish and egg yolk. K2 is a separate fat-soluble vitamin found in fermented foods and some animal fats. The two are commonly formulated together because they're both fat-soluble and both involved in calcium metabolism.

What is colostrum?

The first milk produced after birth, in cattle as in humans, and compositionally quite different from ordinary milk. The bovine version is collected in the first days after calving and dried or kept as a liquid.

What is elderberry?

The fruit of the Sambucus shrub, used in European food and folk tradition for centuries — in cordials, jams and wines. It's dark purple and rich in anthocyanins, the same pigment class found in blackcurrants and blueberries. Supplements are made from concentrated fruit extract.

What is nascent iodine?

Iodine held in an atomic rather than a bound form, suspended in alcohol. Iodine occurs naturally in seaweed, seafood and dairy, and iodised salt exists because soils in many parts of the world are low in it. Australia added mandatory iodine fortification to bread in 2009.

Which of these do customers rate highest?

Perfect Amino Tablets (166 reviews, 4.9), BiOptimizers Magnesium Breakthrough (139, 4.9), Organifi Green Juice (116, 4.9), Cymbiotika Mineral Shilajit (54, 4.9), Vitamin D3 + K2 + CoQ10 (46, 4.9), Cymbiotika Omega (32, 5.0), Organifi Red Juice (32, 4.8) and Organifi Gold (32, 4.8).

Vitamin, probiotic, wholefood or botanical — what's the difference?

They're four different kinds of thing. A vitamin or mineral is a single isolated nutrient at a stated dose. A probiotic is live micro-organisms of the kind already living in the gut. A wholefood powder is dried food — greens, fruit, organ meat — concentrated rather than isolated. A botanical is a plant extract, usually one with a long history of traditional use.

The practical distinction most people find useful: single nutrients are easy to dose and easy to judge; wholefoods and botanicals give you the whole matrix and are harder to measure but closer to food. Neither approach is the correct one — they suit different people.

How much do these cost here?

From $44.95. BiOptimizers P3OM and the NXGEN bone marrow capsules are the entry points; the Organifi powders sit around $100; Cymbiotika Coated Silver is the most expensive single item at $185.95. Most of the range falls between $55 and $120. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.

Are these genuine, and is StoneAge an authorised stockist?

Yes. StoneAge Health is an Australian-owned business and an authorised stockist for the brands on this page. Stock is held in an Australian warehouse rather than drop-shipped from overseas, so what arrives is current stock with proper shelf life, not something that has spent weeks in transit.

Where do these ship from?

An Australian warehouse. No customs step, no international wait, and no import duty added at the door.
